Lyle Holiday

Welcome to Windham Southeast Supervisory Union. My name is Lyle Holiday, Superintendent of Schools for Windham Southeast.  WSESU is located in the southeast corner of Vermont and encompasses the towns of Brattleboro, Dummerston, Guilford Putney and Vernon.  As superintendent of WSESU, I am proud of the opportunities we offer our students.  The WSESU mission “is to provide a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where all students grow academically, socially, and emotionally, and are challenged to reach their potential as local and global community members.”  As I begin my work as superintendent of schools, one of my goals is to continue to create student citizens ready to join a global society.

After graduating from Castleton State College with a BS in Education, I began my educational career teaching in Dummerston, VT for 24 years.  During my years of classroom teaching I earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Assessment followed by a degree in Educational Administration. My time as a classroom teacher was followed by working as the first Literacy Coordinator for WSESU and then as Curriculum and Assessment Coordinator for 13 years.

My leadership philosophy is to do what is best for the students. While this may sound obvious, it is not always the easy course, but it is always the right course.

I live in Dummerston with my husband Bill. We have 3 children, all of whom are graduates of WSESU.  When not working, we enjoy traveling, and going to concerts as well as attending local sporting events.
